Spanish Word of the Day
Saturday, September 22, 2012
bajo adjective: low
  • As we’ve seen with many other words, Spanish conveys meanings that English conveys with separate words. First, something that is low:
una silla muy baja a very low chair
  • It is also used non-literally.
una silla muy baja a very low chair
la temporada baja the low season
a un precio muy bajo at a very low price
  • Bajo also refers to your physical stature. In this sense it’s often used in the diminutive, with the suffix -ito added.
una silla muy baja a very low chair
la temporada baja the low season
a un precio muy bajo at a very low price
Son los dos más bien bajitos. They’re both rather short.
