Apuntar has two meanings which don’t have an obvious connection. The first one is to write down, make a note of something:
Apúntalo o te vas a olvidar. Write it down, or you’ll forget.¿Por qué noapuntas mis datos? Why don’t you take a note of my details? -
Apuntar also means to point:
